Cait Clements, known professionally as Rruz, is a digital artist inspired by life’s hidden magic. Rruz began her career working traditionally as a painter and collage artist. She received her Masters of Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia in 2014. Rruz studied drawing and painting in Florence, Italy and was later awarded an artist residency in Costa Rica. Rruz’s work has been featured in multiple exhibitions including Philadelphia, NYC, Costa Rica, Florence, London, Brussels, Amsterdam and Paris.
In 2018, Rruz experimented and combined her artwork with technology. As Rruz became fluent in Photoshop, she became fascinated with digital arts and the ability to create new work with the simple touch of a stylus to a screen.
In 2021, Rruz gave birth to her daughter, which unknowingly unlocked another hidden magic of life. Rruz creates artwork that is influenced by her young daughter’s exploration through the world. Her artwork depicts the landscape of learning about the world for the very first time through the lens of a child, discovering the journey of life, and the use of childhood imagination. Her work leaves viewers with nostalgia for unlocking their own magical childhood memories.
